Welcome to Powhatan High School! On behalf of our choral students, boosters, and booster executive board, thank you for being part of this year’s Powhatan Diamond Classic. We are truly honored to welcome you and your ensembles to our community.

Over three exciting days—March 19–21, 2026—nearly 1,200 incredibly talented students will take the stage to showcase their dedication, artistry, and passion for show choir. Stand alone choirs will perform Thursday, treble show choirs Friday, followed by mixed show choirs on Saturday, filling the weekend with unforgettable performances and energy. We hope you enjoy every moment and celebrate these students with your applause, cheers, and encouragement—they’ve earned it!

As the Powhatan High School Choral Director, now in my eighth year, I am continually inspired by the commitment it takes to bring an event like this to life. Hosting the Diamond Classic is truly a labor of love, made possible by the incredible support of our participants, families, and community. Whether you’re performing on stage or cheering from the seats, our hope is that everyone leaves with lasting memories and a renewed appreciation for the power of music and teamwork.

My own show choir journey began in 1992, and I feel incredibly fortunate to serve as director here at Powhatan. Watching students grow through this activity—both musically and personally—is why events like the Diamond Classic mean so much to all of us.

The Powhatan choral students, our passionate boosters, dedicated parents, supportive administration, and I wish all participating groups the very best for a successful and enjoyable weekend. For many ensembles, this will be one of the final competitions of the 2026 season, and we are honored you chose to spend it with us.

A heartfelt thank you to the Powhatan Choral Boosters, our volunteers, alumni, and students for the countless hours you dedicate—not only to the Diamond Classic, but to our choral program throughout the year.
